The new common core standards for all subjects has a high focus on vocabulary. In order to increase vocabulary retention in the math classroom we will be doing cummulative vocabulary quizzes. We will work on 50 vocabulary words over a span of 5 weeks. At the end of the 5 weeks students will take a vocabulary test on all 50 words. Each week the students will add 10 more words to study and take a quiz. An example of the format is below.

Week 1: 1-10

Week 2: 1-20

Week 3: 1-30

Week 4: 1-40

Week 5: 1-50
